I am Shruti Singh, an international postgraduate student at the University of Bristol, currently pursuing an MSc in Wireless Communication and Signal Processing. As part of my academic and professional development, I undertook a 12-week internship as a Visitor Operations and Events Assistant, where I played an active role in supporting both weekend and weekday operations while contributing to the seamless delivery of high-profile events, including public functions, weddings, and themed programs. My responsibilities included visitor engagement, coordination with internal teams, and ensuring a professional and welcoming environment for all guests. I worked flexibly across varying schedules, which strengthened my ability to adapt to dynamic operational demands.

Through this role, I developed strong operational awareness, learning how to handle crowd flow, manage safety protocols, and communicate effectively with both visitors and team members. I became proficient in balancing back-end coordination with front-end service, ensuring a seamless experience for over 15,000 attendees across multiple events. I also gained insights into the complexities of event scheduling, team delegation, and managing unpredictable workloads.

This experience enhanced my interpersonal skills, resilience, and ability to stay detail-oriented under pressure. It significantly contributed to my professional growth in the events and hospitality domain while enriching my cultural experience in the UK.
